Q: When I first run the CoCGMS I'm asked for a default name and then I'm prompted for a login. What's up with that? A: The first time you run the CoCGMS, it will create a registry block of settings for the app in HKEY_CU\Software\FileMaker\CocGMS branch. It stores the user name you are asked to provide on first run within this branch. That name is then used as the default name for authentication to the application. You can enter CoCGMS as the user name if you plan on sticking with the default user name for the system or you can enter your own name (or any other) and then create a matching user name in the CoCGMS database itself to match the default name. Then the login dialog box you are prompted with on each run of the CoCGMS will be populated with the right name and you will just need to enter your password. If you accidentally set the wrong default login name and would like to change it, just run regedit.exe and delete the key HKEY_Current_User\Software\Filemaker\CoCGMS\11.0\ (or 10.0 if you are running a version prio to 1.40 of the CoCGMS) and re-run the application and you'll be prompted again for that information. |
